About the Author

My name is Jodi Woods, and I was diagnosed with ADHD in the 5th grade by my doctor, Dr. Marshall. I never let that diagnosis define me. Instead, I chose to call my ADHD a wonderfully wiggly brain because of the creativity it gave me. Over time, I learned to see that creativity as my greatest superpower. My wonderfully wiggly brain has taken me on adventures I never could have imagined—from teaching English abroad in South Korea to pursuing my Master of Social Work degree. Through those experiences, I discovered my true passion: helping children understand that ADHD is not a weakness, but a strength. Jodi and Her Wonderfully Wiggly Brain is my first children’s book, inspired by my own journey of learning to accept and celebrate my differences. As both an author and an advocate, I use my voice to remind kids that they are superheroes too fearless, fun, and full of wiggly brain power. Every wonderfully wiggly brain is unique, and every child deserves to see their difference as a gift. My hope is that my story and my book inspire children everywhere to embrace their creativity, celebrate who they are, and believe that their wonderfully wiggly brain is their greatest superpower one that only they truly understand.
